Getting off of PPI’s.

Getting off of PPI’s and the acid rebounds.

I was wondering if anyone has ever heard of a gastric tube inserted into your stomach.  With a battery operated pump you could pump your acid it out as often as needed until your stomach stops producing too much acid.

Even getting fed intravenously until your stomach shuts down.

Sounds a little extreme! I fixed mine with eating smaller portions, especially at dinner.Eating a smaller portion allows your stomach to not go into overdrive trying to breakdown a large amount. Also re booted my yoga practice, which I do everyday now, plus meditation.I'm off the PPI's(Never liked taking them anyway).

I’m glad you got off of them.

I am writing about a friend that has an extreme case. She’s been taking PPIs for over 10 years.   But she’s in pain a lot and has a very restricted diet.

She would like to get off of them but she’s afraid of the reflux.

My idea is to pump it out and I was wondering if anyone else’s has  heard about my idea.

I had been eating a little junk food so cut this out.I've always consumed a large amount of different fruit and vegetables. The junk is the only food items I've quit eating.I was working 12hr shifts, coming home, eating a large dinner, then going to bed early as I get up at 4.30am for work.I halved the amount of dinner.Yoga and meditation also helped although I'm thinking any exercise is better than none,so pick your exercise is better than none.Keeping active is very important.

PPI’s  refer to proton pump inhibitor’s.

Proton pumps secrete acid into your stomach.

PPI’s  slow down the production of stomach acid.

There are some over-the-counter PPIs that you can get without a prescription. And they’re also stronger ones that you need a prescription for.

I was writing about a friend. I don’t really know what she eats.    I know she eats saltine crackers and hummus.  She also eats several small meals a day.
