Getting off sertraline zoloft

Posted , 6 users are following.

I've been on zoloft 100 mg for a very long time. Would really like to get off them.

Tried twice but side effects were so bad that went back on. I take 100 mg every 3 days or so and it's been working. However, sexual disfunction is high and no emotions. I really want to wean off but terrified since reading all your comments.

I plan on speaking with my doctor about weaning off.

Any other out there that's been on zilift for so long and succeeded in getting off them.

How long did it take for the side effects take to disappear?

P.

My doctor was unhappy with me when I went off without his permission and control.  I read about how to make it happen and I cut back and stretched it out over three or four months.

If you are now taking 100 milligram, I'd break the pills in half and start out with a full size pill one day and take 1/2 pill the next day.  Do this for several weeks.  Then start taking 1/2 pill every day for a month or so.  After that, what I did was take a half pill every other day for about a month.  It took almost 6 months before I was able to finally say "this is it" and stop.  You should never stop ubruptly.

I have had a hard several weeks since I stopped, a great deal of depressing thoughts, tension and memory issues and sleep difficulties.

I am please to say that things are better this week than last.

I don't think I want to go on anything like this agian, buit if I fall apart without it, I know it is there.  I felt like I was losing it the first two weeks after I stopped, I was forgetting to do things and I was crying here and there.  It was not a good thing at all.  I almost went back on it and gave up.  But, I am glad I was tough on myself and made this happen.

I would like to see how I do without it and live my life without medications.

I have increased b-complex and b-12 vitamins as my primary care doctor told me.  I'm drinking stress relief herbal tee and taking gynsing and also St. John's Wort right now.  I think that is helping.

I do have Lorazapam to help me sleep and I am really glad.

If you follow the 10% tapering method you should avoid the withdrawals, I have now been off for about 4 months and am fine, no W/D

i was on them for 2.5 years and like you had attempted to come off them before with the advice from my GP which was shockingly poor.

serch the thread you have been given and follow the advice and you will be fine slowly and consistently is the key to help your nervous system adjust to each cut and repair,

    good luck x
