Getting ready to ramp up to 50 mg of Sertraline...thoughts?

Posted , 6 users are following.

I am almost done with my start up period of 25 mg.  So far been a bit shaky during the day but sleep has improved some.  Has anyone noticed a huge change when going from 25 mg to 50 mg?  My body is always sensitive to meds...Should I maybe split the second half and do 37.5 mg for a bit and then go to 50 mg or just follow doctor's orders of 25-50?  I do have some Ativan that I can take as needed for any flareups of anxiety which I have only needed to take once so far but it's there as backup (definitely helps to know I have backup).  Thanks for your thoughts!

I was told to do 25 mg for 6 days and then go up to 50 mg on day 7.  I have noticed some changes (sleep is a little better) but the shakes are still there during the day.  I'm hoping the increase will start improving things more...I guess I was just worried it would be such a drastic jump.

I was on 25mg for 4 weeks and it wasnt helping so doc and I decided to start 50mg. I started that Saturday, so Im on day 6. I noticed, a little more anxiety, shaky feeling, lack of appietite, but yesterday was one of my best days thus far....Im praying it gets better, cause a week ago a new anxiety symptom popped up.....weak, shaky, pain in my legs!! Im hoping its just an anxiety symptom and not a spinal tumor ir something!! Im always afraid Im going to be too medicated to really listen to my body, or to figure out if its a real symptom or just anxiety. FYI I have health anxiety. Specifically cancer, tumors etc. Im trying to be realistic, and say its probably pinched nerve or lack of exercise...but.hmmmmmmm.......
