Getting Roaccutane prescribed privately

Hi,
I have suffered from acne since I was 13. Whatever there is to try I've tried. I spent so many years slathering creams and peroxides and god knows what on my face, as well as taking antibiotics. When I was 17 I finally went on a course of Roaccutane as my acne had flared up pretty badly. You know when it goes from having lots of spots here and there...to suddenly having your cheeks completely covered in them with no normal skin in between. Roaccutane worked a charm.
Now I'm 23, for the past 5 years I've still had mild aacne, but nothing like how bad it used to be. Over the past few months however its suddenly gotten bad again - and when I say bad its nothing like as severe as when I went on Roaccutane the first time, but still enough that I don't even want to leave the house.
So my question is this, I cannot be doing with the whole waiting months to see a derm on the NHS again. I want to see one privately straight away. Can I afford it - not really, but I would honestly live on plain pasta for the next 6 months just to have clearer skin. If I see a private derm, and I am paying, can I be like look Roaccutane is the only thing that works, get me on it. My fear is that I will spend a ridiculous amount on just the initial consultation for them to be like - no your skin isn't bad enough to go on roaccutane. I'll attatch pictures so you can see
I know it's not severe- but surely it has to be classed as persistent at this point?
Any help would be much appreciated!

My experience with private consultants (I haven't been seen by private dermatology but by other specialists) I that they like to keep you coming. It's basically because they want your money but it means that they won't be very likely to just see you once and send you away. Telling them you've had success on roaccutane in the past will hopefully encourage them to think about it.
Also, I was on the nhs waiting list for such a long time before I got seen and by then (as I been on antibiotics for 6 months) my acne wasn't at it's worst by the time I got seen. It was probably only moderately worse than yours and they still put me on roaccutane without hesitating. I'd say it's worth a go.
Like I said, they'll offer you something as they want your money which isn't great but may be good in this situation!
Hope that helps

Not sure what product Rachel is on, wondering if it is the same as my daughter is now taking ? My daughter had a similar case to yours. She is 21 and has suffered with acne for over 7 years. She faffed around with the doctor prescribed lotions potions and pills which didn't work and then decided she wasn't bad enough to be referred for Roaccutane. Her skin was terrible. It was awful to see her confidence levels go down because of this. By pure chance, she came across a product called Accumax - all natural. It's not particularly cheap, but IT WORKS ! There are various outlets you can get it from, stockists or direct via the Advanced Nutrition website. She is currently taking 3 tablets a day - you may not need to do this - depending on the severity of your skin....I researched this over and over again before she started on the tablets (all fine). She has now been taking the tablets for 6 weeks and the results are incredible....they recommend taking for 3 months to see complete irradication - but after 6 weeks my daughters skin has improved beyond belief. Not sure how much a private derm is, but I bet not as much as 3 months supply of Accumax. Google it,,let me know what you think.
