Getting There

Posted , 5 users are following.

Had a lazy few days following another, but very minor op done as day surgery on Monday. Going to the coast tomorrow to see family, but doing bank holiday duty on Monday. Autumn seems to be coming fast, choir starts this week, OU starts soon, and at our last Elders Meeting we arranged the Christmas services. Sometimes seems just a blink of an eye since April when I had my op but in other respects seems an age! Pleased to say that all is well though I still have some way to go

I know what you mean. I'm four weeks behind you. Some days I think I'm ok back to normal then others the stiffness takes over. But still feeling the difference every day. Hope all is well with you x

    Hi Maggie,

The problem I have at the moment is stiffness, not real pain...But I know I am getting better a little every day.

It takes a year to feel completely recovered, so we have still some way to go, but it's not too bad!

    Best wishes

Great to hear how you are doing Maggie. 9 weeks on and I am still really stiff particularly in the morning. Walking doing home great but cannot get into my stride outside. I walk about a mile but take one crutch for security and something to lean on if needing to rest or stop for a gab. Sometimes it annoys me that I have lost the summer but I have to remind myself that recovery time is never wasted time. Time for me to start getting in to things again !!!

Last couple of days we have been to big shopping centres where I have walked for hours.  The only thing that ached was my back which it always has done. When I got tired I would find that I waddle a bit as I get up for have a coffee etc.  Husband just laughs and says 'Com one then Waddlealot' 😀. Reminds me to straighten up and fly right.
