GF complains of vaginal itch, thinks she has herpes (But I think it’s an ingrown hair)?

My girlfriend and I have been monogamous and exclusive for about a year. She's started complaining recently of vaginal itch and saying she thinks she has genital herpes, but isn't showing any symptoms besides the itch. She has a few bumps on her labia but to me it doesn't look out of the ordinary? It just looks like normal vaginal skin bumps... then today she said her vagina was very itchy and one of the bumps seems larger than the others.image

I circled the bump in red. There's been zero pus, scabs, etc. and she says it's just itchy, not painful. With the current COVID situation she doesn't really want to see a doctor unless she has to, so she's been a bit on edge/anxious lately at the prospect. I'll probably convince her to go and get it checked out anyway because it's affecting her mood.

but what is it? I personally think it could be an ingrown hair.

If both of you have been monogamous for a year, then there is no chance that it is herpes. Forget about it.

Either it is due to a fungal infection or, as you have said, it could be an ingrown hair.

For ingrown hair antibiotic creams are suggested and for fungal infection, antifungal creams are suggested.

In this case, I would say try a combination cream that has both antibiotic and antifungal in it.

    Good luck.

      that is actually incorrect

herpes cam lie dormant in the body for YEARS there have been reports of people not getting an outbreak to upwards of 10 years after exposure. thats why they are so common and easily spread, alot of people dont have symptoms but can still spread it.

in this case it looks like an infected ingrown hair because of the puss i can see under the bump

however if you or her have EVER had any other sexual contact, even oral i would suggest gettimg tested

From what you circulated in the image, I see only fordyce spots I have and it never bothered me, something normal, but due to the itching it may be some fungal infection, allergy ...
