    Hi,

You don't really give a lot of information about your issues, but I would never change the dose of your meds without talking to your Dr's they have put you on a certain dose for a reason so speak with them if you have concerns.  Your GFR is reasonable at 55% the drugs that you are on can effect it but you need to speak with your Dr none of us on here are medically qualified to confirm its ok to halve your dose.  Hope this helps

speak to your prescribing doctor about ANY THING that involves your medication. only he/she can give proper advice regarding your dose and perscriptions. it is only safe to discuss those things with your prescribing physician. As for a GFR of 55% in my opinion that's not too bad. keep in mind your GFR can have fluctuations depending on diet and lifestyle. From where I stand with a GFR of 28% , 55%looks pretty great to me. as long as you watch your diet, eat a kidney friendly diet and hopefully your GFR will stay or it CAN raise. The numbers chsnge. I've been as low as 28 and as high as 40 before. everyone's situation is different but if your looking to raise your GFR then I suggest trying a kidney friendly diet. with having CKD I seriously doubt 100% is possible because of the damage to the kidneys from disease, however it IS possible to raise your GFR. however, it works both ways. it can also lower if the kidneys have to work harder to remove toxins from a bad diet, lifestyle ect. The number isn't set in stone, it can raise or lower accordingly. Hope this helps and I wish you the best. I'm here if you ever would like to talk or just need some support. best wishes.
