GFR and Hydration

Posted , 3 users are following.

I just finished a stay in the hospital for PT blood clots in the lungs. When admitted, my

GFR measured 29. It steadily rose to 55 at time of dismissal (5 days). I was in bed the whole time, and mainly ate and slept. I gained 15-20 lbs! (food was good). I was on an IV the whole time, and peed and peed and peed. Can hydration make this big a difference? This is huge! Nearly double and I feel better than I have in years!

Thanks!
