GI Side Effects from Maca Root?

Posted , 5 users are following.

Has anyone taken this for hormone balance during peri? If so, did you experience any GI issues? What were they? How long did they last after stopping the maca root?

I started it two weeks ago. Have had diarrhea, stomach pains especially after eating, waves of nausea, upset stomach, etc. Saw these symptoms reported by some online. I stopped it yesterday afternoon. It totally messed up my stomach...at least I think thats what it is. Curious to see what others might have experienced...

oh yes, it gave me the same Symptoms after just two days… Terrible. I stopped taking it right away and was fine with in a day or so. I now take turmeric supplements and it’s been very helpful for joint pain and just generally feeling better.

Hi. I started taking Macca root about 10 days ago now. I have not had any issues with this. I started taking it as my Libido was none existent. I found that it has helped a little in this area😊
