GIve myself enough time?

I go to bed at 10:34, and if I'm not asleep by 10:50, I take a sleep formula. Do I need to give myself more time?

I've always taken an hour maybe a bit more so I'm not worried until 2 or more hours have gone by.
I have tried staying up later but it still takes an hour at least.
My husband would be stressing after half an hour because he's normally snoring within 10 minutes.
Also worrying and clock watching don't help you get to sleep.

Could I cover my cable box alarm clock with a shirt or something?

I normally need the loo if I'm not asleep after 2 to 3 hours and I have a quick glance at the time then.
But always I have found looking at the time and thinking that's another half hour gone by is better at keeping me awake than not knowing.
This is because, in my case at least if I have to be up early I get stressed and sometimes just get plain annoyed.
Also when I'm not clock watching I'm less likely to get up frustrated by it all after an hour and a half which just wakes me up even more.
