well after 2 years of struggling on ive decided to start hrt. Been prescribed estradoil gel and medroxyprogesterone. The progesterone is to be taken days 14-28 of cycle but to take 3 x 10mg tablets a day. Is this right? Sounds a lot to be taking 3 a day??

I'm post menopausal so there are no 'cycles' to deal with anymore but just as a reference, I take Progesterone 100mg each night by mouth.

have u tried googling the meds to see what the dosage is? surely your GP knows what they're doing in setting u up on that dose. or read the leaflet that comes with the meds

googled and read the leaflet and thats what raised my concerns. Thought id ask on here to hear about others experiences. Went to see a different doctor and it should be only 1 tablet and not the 3 the original doctor i saw prescribed! Doctors do make mistakes

wish I could be of more help, yes a doctor can make mistakes, but maybe u should report the doctor for making the mistake.

I currently take 5mg provera once a day in the morning and I'm also on evorel patches 75 strength, although the provera has stopped my irregular periods, I still suffer with hot sweats sometimes, but I guess that's part of the menopause.

I was the same, gave in after about 2 or 3 years! Hope it works for you... what brand progesterone are you taking as that would determine the strength/dosage?

I tried quite a few but am progesterone intolerant so it took a few attempts of patches, caps and finally pessaries! See how you go and feel, give it a good 3 months to get into your system unless you feel poorly on a certain type... your body will let you know.

Fingers crossed you feel relief and can get your life back soon.
