Iv been on this group asking for advise about sertraline withdrawals. Iv given in and started on a new antidepressant because the anxiety got too much after 4 weeks off the drug. Iv taken my first citralopram this morn. Im not sure how im feeling about it. Im more anxious because im scared the side effects will kick in. Has anyone been in this situation or taken citralopram before? Im just after some reasurance 😓

I'm having such a hard time with sertraline. I was on Effexor before this for 3 years and I was happy but it didn't really help that much with my obsessive thoughts (I was on a low dose of 75mg). Then I kept lowering and had a major panic attack from extreme intrusive thoughts and decided to up myself to 150 mg and I couldn't sleep and my thoughts were out of control so I switched to sertraline and started at 75mg for a week then 100 mg for 2.5 weeks and still felt awful then they bumped me to 150mg for two weeks and now I'm on 200mg. I feel sick in my stomach. I have anxiety still but the thoughts have left. I just feel empty.

I personally wouldnt go back on sertraline again its a nice one for me. You'll get the right meds just keep going to your doc and they will find you the right one. Wishing you well

Hi Shelly.
my sister takes citralopram and she takes them through the winter months every year
because she suffers from SAD and she never has side effects, she maybe one of the lucky ones.
Im now on week 12 and I still get some side effects from the sertraline but not has bad I was, that's why I haven't gone up from 25mg because of the way it effected me.
good luck x
