Hi Catherine, I have been diabetic, but was cured by Chromium Picolinate.

Can take months or a year or so t work.

Father in law was also cured by Chromium Picolinate. My A1c readings have been normal for many months, even tho I drink full sugar coca-colas everyday, about 2

    bottles per day.

Having got rid of diabetes, I must tell anyone that needs the info. You are correct

to say goodbye to it. Having given up, can you take just 1 pill per day to get rid of it?

Chromium Picolinate is readily available as a supplement.

Just a point I don't think has been mentioned; my dr said that there are plenty of people who develop T2 diabetes who are not overweight and don't have any of the other well documented risk factors.  They therefore do not ft the picture the media paints of the 'fat and forties' who typify the 'at risk diabetic'.

He told me this when I had had another A1c test [a year after the first] which had come back at the same level, after I'd made massive lifestyle changes, actually for hypertension, that should have sorted my problem out, but hadn't. I am only just prediabetic but it should have dropped right back but hadn't budged,  the assumption being that had I not made the changes and lost the weight etc the numbers would have risen sharply.

When are you next due to see your diabetic nurse and have a blood test? Have you had an oral glucose test done or just an A1c? Why would you see a diabetic nurse as opposed to a practice nurse, if she was in fact a diabetic nurse why didn't she give you the dietary information you want?

I don't kmow what an a1c test is I was just told it was the result of a blood test and I had another one a couple days later I'm due to get the results on thurs.     2 of the practice nurses are specia

ist diabetic nurses I have seen them both. One just bullied me into losing a couple of inches off my waste and extolling the virtues of the 5 2 diet and the other one told me not to worry !

And yet neither of them gave you any details - just scared you. That's not good. But perhaps you didn't ask? The A1c or full name HbA1c is the blood test that determines whether you have diabetes or not.  It measures the amount of glucose sticking to the red blood [Hb] platelets after about 10 weeks and is the test which determines the diagnosis these days. If you look on diabetes.co.uk  the info is all there. You really do need all the information you can get and in my experience some of the practice nurses seem reluctant to give it. They seem to hide behind the fact that they are not doctors. Perhaps they are scared of being sued for giving out wrong info or something - this happened to me when I was diagnosed with hypertension - sthe nurse just told me to see the doctor which of course makes things all sound so much worse. how absurd !!

Best of luck on Thursday, but if your fears are confirmed it really isn't the end of the world, there is plenty of help out there.

Yes, in the US. I didn't mention that I made healthy changes to my diet

By heeding the advice - Let your food be your medicine .... So, did a lot of

Online searching for the most nutritious foods.

Have learned recently about the benefits of beans -on a YouTube video.

The site says research shows people who had ((about 4 cups of beans)

per week lost more weight, than those who did not have beans.

(They are talking about ANY kind of beans.)

I will lookup the NAME of that nutrition site on YouTube & post it here.

      I have come to the conclusion that no one is going to give up, for the following reasons;

      No one will let you.

Why come on this site, if you don't want to carry on knowing that we are all friends and you will look at the first reason.

I know how you feel but I'm hoping you have gotten through it by now, since I see you posted giving up 8 days ago.

I am 57 and have had Type 2 since 38. Oral meds only worked 2 years. I take a long acting shot twice a day and a short actinging 3-4 times a day, and I test 6-8 times a day, because my diabetes is considered uncontrolled with an A1c over 7. I am trying, though, to control it, but I am so insulin resistant and take huge amounts of insulin. Sometimes I just get tired of sticking myself and being made to feel like it's my fault I can't do better and lose weight and get my blood sugars down.

But the "give up" attitude doesn't last more than a few hours. I think it's just a temporary mind set of frustration. Giving up means suffering from all the diabetic complications before dying, and I'm scared to death of going blind, being on dialysis, etc. (I already have panic attacks!)

never STOP taking insulin etc , i did this for a week and ended up with micro biosis on my legs as your body needs insulin, think of the days before 1921 when no insulin was around and people just died, never STOP
