Giving an update from my last post in July (wanted to update Anne)😊

Some of you may remember my story but Iāll give the short version again. During my pregnancy 4 years ago I developed ETD. I would only have etd attacks maybe once a year and I went a full year without having one which was amazing.
This passed July I woke up one morning with such a full feeling in my right ear that I literally had a panic attack. Went to the ent and he thought it was Ménièreās disease. Which really had me freaking out as I didnāt want both of these dreadful conditions. He put me on a diuretic and a 21 day prednisone reducing course(Anneās suggestion 😊 and the steroids helped with the fullness a little to relieve that pressure. While I still had the extreme fullness the pressure was gone and I could pop my ear. Iāve been to 3 ENTs since July and will be going to another specialist here in January
the fullness stayed in my ear for 8 weeks and someone in the menieres group suggested I should get my diuretic dose upped. I did. My ear fullness started going away!
finally after upping my dose in about 2 weeks I had relief.
Then a week later (only had relief for a week) woke up and there it was again.
This is my newest thing. Ear fullness for 3 weeks, 1 week of relief.
Then I though ok, let me try something new so after having a week of constant fullness I got steroid spray and woke up to a clear ear. The next 2 weeks it wasnāt full but constantly popping. Every day twice a day I do steam. My ear has been clear now for 3 days. Iām thinking this isnāt Ménièreās disease but etd instead. Iām hoping this stays away for a bit this time. HAving only a few days a month of relief is maddening really. Anyone else have similar symptoms? I
thanks everyone

That's what I'm dealing with now. It's horrible. I'm a 28 year old male. Never had ear problems in my life. I had a severe cold in September, flew to Jamaica and back for a trip, and have been dealing with pressure in my ears since. Not only pressure in my ears but also the popping and clicking sounds, sometimes it sounds like a heartbeat or a purr if that makes sense. I have ringing in only one ear that comes and goes. I was diagnosed with ETD and my left eardrum was retracted. I've done allergy meds, nasal sprays, steroids (Prednisone) twice, Sudafed, etc. It's a constant struggle. I did talk to my friend who is a chiropractor and this is what he said about ETD and what we can do about treating it. Numbers 2 and 3 are the reasons I'm going to a chiropractor asap.
1. Excess wax build up that needs to be cleared with one of those kits with the drops and bulb syringe. Debrox is a brand here in the US.
2. Misalignment of one or more of the 3 little bones in the inner ear. They can be āpoppedā back in place.
3. A misalignment of the upper 1-2 bones of the neck. C2 controls elimination parts of the body so that's the ears, nose, lungs, kidneys, colon, bladder and skin. Can be a combination of any of those 3 too.
Wax is like hormones and glands. Nerves control all bodily function and if the nerves are irritated, that can that cause over or under production of fluids, mucus and ear wax.
Bones of inner ear control balance, ear pressure, and hearing so if those are out of whack, that will cause mild dizziness, vertigo and other balance and coordination problems if severe enough.

That's amazing! I'm so glad to hear that! I'm going to a chiropractor early in the new year. Apparently he's one of the best in the US and people come from Canada to see him. He treats people with ETD and vertigo, all the time and has great results. I can't wait to go get adjusted and fixed! I'm glad you saw my post. I'll share my results in the new year. Make sure to find a good chiropractor or one that specializes in "zone healing". Sounds strange, but that's a specific kind of practice that my friend does and recommended. You can also copy my post and have them check those specific things in the neck and inner ear bones. Basically anything I mentioned in my post. Glad you had some relief, keep it up and stay positive. This will go away!

Exactly! Most regular doctors do not believe in chiropractors or natural holistic ways to heal. They want to sell you drugs and make themselves more money. I'm sure there are some truly caring doctors out there, but you have to find them. My friend (the chiropractor) can tell you story after story about healing people with kidney problems, diabetes, or people who couldn't go to the bathroom normally for years and years. Once he adjusted them several times, they were as good as new. It takes time and I'm sure that adjustments in the neck or wherever they're needed will need more than one session, but it's something to continue trying. He told me he highly recommended the zone healing technique as I mentioned. Either way, I agree that there has to be a cure. Nothing like this would last forever unless it was misdiagnosed. There's always the possibility that it's something else so that's why I'll also be doing allergy testing, more specific CT scans of the inner ear, a hearing test (can help with diagnosing things properly), a Tympanometry (for pressure), and of course the chiropractor. Like I said ill post my results and if you ever need to chat don't hesitate :D

Morning Ashley,
Good to hear from you. I'll repeat my version too. Since April having taking the Prednisolone, then 6 weeks of
Flixonase Nasules all was good for a few weeks. Smell and taste back too. However, I knew if I reverted back
to the Flixonase Spray within a week my ears would block up again, so badly that I am unable to pop them. So I decided to stay on the Flixonase, but, instead of using it twice daily I was only using it in the mornings. Now I only have to use it approx. every 6 days, that seems to last me another 6 days. due to the Nasule drops being so much stronger than the sprays (any sprays) that's why I now seem to have my ETD under control. I'll be seeing my ENT consultant in February and see what he thinks about how I'm using the drops. I'd be really concerned if I had to use them every day, as side affects would ensue and I don't need any other problems on top of blessed ENT.
It seems England is the only place one can get prescribed these Nasule Drops, which is such a shame, as they have helped me so much....even being able to pop ears. I think crackling and popping of our ears is quite a good sign, it's when they don't that's when they are really clogged.
Tasha on the Forum keeps complaining about a thumping sound she experiences. Well, yesterday I did too. I now realise that I think it's the nerve in the ear that we feel and hear, mine went off when I ignored it. I can cope with that and tinnitus, but ETD a BIG NO NO for me !!
Keep in touch Ashley and sorry to ask again, which country are you in ?
Kind regards
Anne

If you haven't already tried, I highly suggest a chiropractor. I've had this issue for 6 years. This week I just couldn't take it anymore, I tried everything my doctors and specialists could think of. No one could help me. I made a chiro appt. as a last ditch effort, because I hadn't had any relief in 6 years and I was willing to try ANYTHING. This problem is affecting my relationships, work, quality of life, etc. I had been several years before, but that was before the popping started. They did massage therapy on my neck and I already noticed a difference. When I popped my ears, the pressure wasn't building up as quickly. They adjusted my neck and I almost immediately felt a difference and a draining in the back of my throat. It's only been an hour and a half since I was there and it's been continually getting better.
