Glad it's done, not sure about the colour

It's now 48 hours since my iguinal repair. Reading through the other comments it seems that my experience is much the same as others - sore and tender around the wound, anxious of stretching the incision when getting up and still haven't had a bowel movement.

Apart from the tenderness there's no real pain, but I've been taking the prescribed tablets so I guess they're working.

The most alarming development is the discolouration of the penis and scrotum. When I woke this morning my gentleman's tackle was a deep burgundy colour. Having found this page I've discovered that is quite usual, though I don't yet know how long it will last.

Looking forward to the next couple of days and hoping the symptoms subside . . . .especially the colouring!

Ok take care, this is what I had 8 months ago with mesh.  Very early days for you my repair was my 5th abdominal op 3 c sections, a laprotomy to sort me out when my bowels perforated 33 years after my 3rd c section and the incisional hernia repair done in Edinburgh last year.  I teach ballet and went back way too soon had no-one to cover my lessons still working and starting to feel better but I have loads of mesh in me as my abdomen was completely wrecked after all the ops, so had abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) at the same time as the hernia repair.  I'm a bit like humpty dumpty but hoping they have put me together again, unlike that poor unfortunate egg, dont crack up laughing will you. Regarding your other problem make sure the medics check you out
