Hello from Canada.  I had my gland removed six weeks ago and for the first few weeks I had intense pain and swelling in the same area. Most of my pain was to the side of the anal that if I pushed it hurt the area. I also had similar pain down my leg.  I used peppermint oil to help ease the pain.  I was told if you are on antibiotics it is important to take a stool softner to prevent putting any pressure on the area.  I still get sudden intense pain.from the incision area and have to be very careful of what I wear, lift or not to spend too much time shopping.
