Glandular fever or Tonsillitis?

Hi guys,

Just wanted to get some opinions. I have quite severe tonsillitis at the moment (I am prone to tonsillitis and have had it about three times in the last year).

This time has hit me pretty hard though. Usually after the second day I’m starting to feel better but I’m feeling worse.

My throat is agonising, I am waking up saturated from sweat and then I am freezing, I only sleeping about two hours a night, have a temp of 38, tonsils are covered in pus.

My doctor recommended that I have a blood test for Glandular Fever. I was meant to get it done today but I was just way too sick and needed to stay in bed.

Is there any stand out symptoms for glandular fever? Or does this just look and sound like another case of tonsillitis.
