I've had the lump in my throat feeling after I experienced a panic attack 2 months ago. I also experience tightening in my throat which leads to the lump feeling. It starts several hours after I wake up and goes away when I lay down. It may be anxiety in your throat. If you think it might be something else, then go to your PCP and get a referral to an ENT. They will place a camera down your nasal passages/throat to check for anything abnormal in your throat. I know mine is anxiety driven because it comes and goes. If it was something serious, I would think it would be there all the time (when I wake up, go to sleep, etc.) I started drinking magnesium citrate powder in my water and sip on it throughout the day. It relaxes the muscles in the throat and helps, but doesn't take it away completely. The only way it will go away completely is if we stop thinking about it. Our thoughts are what fuel the feeling to stay there. We are causing it to be there which really sucks! If you experience anxiety, stress, depression, etc. this very well might be the issue. Hopefully what you have is nothing serious 😃

    hi there,

i suffered from globus for such a long time. i tried to think happy thoughts watched comedy just to fight all these terrible sadness in my life. i used to drink turmeric with honey & lemon in warm water every morning. now i get to drink warm water with lemon every morning. i still get it once in a while but i ignore it. our body had its own healing mechanism. doctors acknowledge it but there are few evidenced based researches to prove it. it's our body & we know when it is there. that is purely anxiety. if i feel the tightening in my throat is about to start, i turn my mind straightaway to positive thoughts. take care. it will go away.
