Globus hystericus sensation after eating ice cream or even after eating eggs over easy

Has anyone else experienced this before? Seems like shortly after eating eggs I get a lump feeling in my throat along with having some ice cream and it adds to my anxiety and I feel like I have to keep clearing my throat

It sounds like you have some reflux going on, perhaps even silent reflux, also known as LPR. It's treated the same way Gerd is treated. LPR is harder to diagnose, because it's not like standard heartburn. Have a chat with your doctor, and maybe check out the Gerd forum on here.

I hope you feel better soon.

Thanks for your reply, I was beginning to worry that I may have something severe going on, I have been diagnosed with gerd in the past, I changed my diet and haven't had to much trouble but recently I have noticed certain foods seem to give me that globus hystericus sensation

I get the same thing. Every so often I'll be hit with that globus sensation, extra saliva (which leads to throat clearing), and all of the other not so fun stuff. When it first started, it would cause panic attacks because I had no clue what it was. Of couse that lead to extremely tight neck muscles, which only made the globus sensation even worse. Sometimes I get a bit of a sore or scratchy throat from clearing it so much. When that happens, I'll have cough drops to help soothe the throat, and I try not to clear as often. It's not a cure, but sure helps in the moment. 😊

It's good to know I'm not alone, I was fearing that my throat was going to close up, having a lump feeling is scary when trying to swallow, even drinking water it still would feel like something is stuck, the feeling is so uncomfortable, I appreciate your response😊
