Has anyone had this surgery ? I am 3 days post op.

Just wondering what type of pain did you have and for how long. I have had a little more pain than i expected. I have a 7 " incision . I have 4 anchors.

THANK YOU!

I had this surgery 15 months ago along with a glute minimus repair. It was a very long and painful recovery. My medius was completely ripped off the bone. I felt like a train wreck for a good month.

Hi paige, not too much pain to be honest, just the fact that you can't stand is horrendous, did you completely rupture it, or partially

No it was a partial tear , thank heavens! I have broken a few of the cardinal rules ( not on purpose) like going up with affected leg instead of the bad. But hopefully I didnt mess up anything!

Was your surgery arththroscopic ? Mine was not.

Thanks for responding! Glad there wasnt significant pain!

I had this surgery five weeks ago. Also had four anchor sutures for labrum tear as well as a bursectomy and shaving a bone spur off the head of my femur.

Recovery has been soooo slow. Hate using the crutches/walker. Rehab is going well.

Doing exercises prescribe by PT twice a day as well as stationary bike 15-20 minutes a day.

Hoping this soreness ends soon and I can walk normally.

I am to have open surgery for complete tear of gluteus minimus in a month. Will appreciate any advice you can give me on preparing for the post-op. Walker better than crutches? How long before you can put weight on foot? How long before you were able to care for yourself? Thanks.

I am 4 months post op & still having lots of discomfort. I have experienced lots of leg aching, especially at night. Also when I lie on my good side w/ a pillow between my legs, I continue to have pain in my bad hip Lying on my back to sleep has really been a challenge. I admit I'm concerned & discouraged since it has been so long, but have read where it can take up to a year for full recovery . PT has helped with strengthening but nothing else . would love to hear if anyone else has same discomfort so I will know nothing else is wrong. thanks
