I have been on 50mg for about 17 days and have had the worst side effects which I dont want to ever go through again. Most of these have eased but I am still so anxious and down and have requested to up my dose to 100mg today. Just wanted some advise as yo whether the effects are going to hit me bad again by doing so?? Dont think I could cope 😢

So sorry to hear this - I'm new to Sertraline so I'm not in a position to advise you but I'm sure someone will be along in a little while . . . my experience of anti-depressant meds tells me that it takes a month or so for them to really kick in and for you to start feeling the positive effects . . .

You may get an increase in side effects, but try to ride it out. You haven't been on the medication very long at all, so increasing it so soon might give you some issues for a bit. During this time, rest as much as you can, make sure you have decent fluid intake, and most importantly, know that things will get better soon. Take it one day at a time knowing that each day you're closer to your end goal.

I had the exact same thing happen to me. yes 100mg is so much better and helped me a ton. its now 8 months and im really doing well and never want to go off it. Good luck . 50 was too low for me and I suffered terribly w anxiety and racing thoughts.
