going from DLA to PIP

Please can anyone tell me is everyone regardless of age going to askd to apply for PIP or is it only working age?  I read that if one was born on or before 1948 then your sill get your DLA as normal. Both me and hubby were born on 1948 him and 1951 me, so where does this leave us?

Thanks

Sue

If, on the 13th April 2013 you were 65 or older you will not be asked to re-qualify under PIP. You will retain your DLA award for as long as you qualify for it.

For those that were aged 16 to 64 on that date you will have to either claim PIP if you want financial help or refuse to apply which will mean you will lose your DLA.

Either way statistics show that those going from DLA to PIP have a 75% of getting some level of award and 25% will not get anything.

No, according to the latest statistics those that are moving over to PIP from DLA have a 3 in 4 chance of getting some level of PIP award. Those then that appeal then have a 60% of winning.

So you could say that of the 25% that fail to get PIP, and appeal another 15% get an an award at a Tribubal. That just leaves the failure rate at 10%!!!!

But the major drawback for those over 65 would be having to cope with continous re-assessment for the rest of their lives!!
