going off diazepam (Valium) 5 mg

Hello, I have used diazepam for only 2,5 months and only 5 mg/day.

I have stopped it cold turkey after this period and it took me 2 weeks to get to 0.

However being ignorant I kept using 2,5 to max 5 mg per week thinking I could still use occasionally for stress full moments.

Since 12 days now I stopped. It is extremely hard but I heard the worst moment is the second week which should be around now.

Anyone similar experiences with cold turkey detox from a similar level?

    hi,

    how are you doing? I hope you're doing ok. if you are still feeling dreadful i would go back to your GP & discuss reinstating, then once stabilised you could slowly taper off using the ashton method - slowly cutting back by 5 - 10% every 1 - 2 weeks. It is not recommended to reinstate after 4 weeks/1 month of discontinuation. you will need a well informed, supportive GP.
