Going on week 7

So im going on week 7 of 20mg of generic prozac. around week 4 i was feeling good, felt like myself again but at around week 5-6, my intrusive thoughts came back. its a weird situation cause i dont necessarily feel anxious, however, i do find myself feeling stressed. i dont know if i should give up on the medication or go on with it to see if itll get better.

antonio, this is normal. i went through a very similar experience. my first few weeks on prozac 20mg were decent. around week 6 and 7 my anxiety returned full force. i chose to go up to 30mg and within a week the good days started returning. i am now on week 10 or so and each day seems to improve. hang in there and it will get better.

Hang in there as James has said! It WILL get better. I am on the same as you-20 mg of Fluoxetine. It's a great drug (in my opinion).Intrusive thoughts are awful aren't they?My psychiatrist gave me Xanax for when I needed it.It's helped so much & then I don't need to take it anymore.

Best of luck & HANG IN THERE!

It is definitely hard, you definitely have to find the right medication that works for you. I tried quite a few, Lexapro and Prozac were the two that really clicked with me. Hope this helps. For me, it was the Lexapro that stopped working, so maybe that is something to consider since Prozac is not working for you.
