I was diagnosed with RA last summer predislone did not work for me so my RA consultant left me on hydroxychloroquine (low dose) I am currently being treated for a slipped disc(18 months ago) A recent blood test has shown my  RF factor is still at 24!! I am aching around my hips and buttocks and my shoulders burn fatigue is now back and I am getting depressed sad I have been referred back to my consultant but I really do not know where to go am I always going to feel like this.....

    Sorry to hear that,have same symptoms,diagnosed with RA and AS, tried many medications that didnt work, going now to humira

    Hi Shelley,

    I'm sorry to hear your condition is not being well controlled at the moment, and that you are also suffering with a slipped disc. I can't really comment on your RF factor. Mine is currently 288.9 with a CCP of more than 340. When you see your consultant again, they should review your treatment and perhaps change your meds. I'm currently having 20ml Methotrexate injections and 20mg Leflunomide, with 30mg Prednisolone. It might be a while before your consultant finds a combination that gets your RA under control, but when they do, you should begin to feel less pain and stiffness. Here's hoping you get some relief soon.

      Thanks for your reply the problem I have is defining what is slipped disk(back) pain and what is RA seeeing a physio at the moment as a real last resort for slipped disc and I am not sure she cannot work out what pain is caused by what!! Really fed up with it all I know I will have to go to my RA consultant nad start again sad

    Sorry to hear that, Im having the exact same problems my hips and shoulders are the worse right now along with the normal hand/leg pain. Im not on any medications and never have been due to not having any health insurance So I have to just deal with it I was on prednisone for a couple of months last year which helped a little but now I have nothing basically. I hope everything works out for you Id like to know how everything turns out
