Going to ask GP for Sertraline

been suffering severe anxiety and depression for a year , Gp started me on venlafaxine 150mg anxiety only got worse , I did persevere for 12 weeks but felt like I was going mad . Went back to go and she changed me onto fluoxetine still no joy and after a few months I was in the blackest hole mentally it was awful my life was one constant fear , Gp agreed to give me diazepam 2mg to take along with the fluoxetine for when the anxiety was extreme , things were so bad I weaned myself off the fluoxetine and kept taking the diazepam , I had a lot of stress in my life so I decided to retire from my job , unfortunately the thought of going places petrifies me I am just a mental wreck with fear . I was advised by a CPN to go back to my gp and ask for Sertraline I dearly want to get over this awful fear and anxiety , has anyone succeeded with Sertraline ?

Yes Catherine
I have been in this situation myself. It's not a nice thing. Its scarey. Go to your doc get the setraline and you Will gradually start to feel a difference. It takes time but persevere. Good luck.

Hi different meds work well for different people but I will say I take 150 mgs of sertraline and it works well for me. I had to try mirtazapine and prozac first which didn't help. I would say it is definitely worth a try. x
