Going to dr

I am going to try to get a doctors appointment on Friday because I feel like the sertraline has stopped working (100mg) as it did when I initially took it. I still feel a sense of dread at being in strange places - not as bad as it was two years ago - so I am still a bit agoraphobic, and today feeling depressed. Feel so tired of feeling strange and unsettled for no good reason. Hopefully 150mg will help, or something else entirely?

yes jane i agree, i'd go to your doctors, increasing to 150mg definatley helped me initially, however this week and last i've not been feeling as good as normal, don't know if that's because of my womans week or the fact that the sertraline has flattened out again, as it also did with me on 100mg, i'm going to bear with this 150mg because i can't keep increasing it the minute i feel down again, maybe it is just a blip and i'll be feeling how i was again in a few days. i'm nowhere near as bad as i was early days and i don't obsess about my thoughts and have racing thoughts as often as i was doing but they are still rearing their ugly heads from time to time, but sticking with it is the key :-)

I hope that your bad patch goes and it doesnt lead to a situation where you have to go up to 200mg! How long did it take for you to feel an improvement when you went up from 100 to 150?

yeah i know, that is a last resort for me to go upto 200mg i really don't think i'm that bad!! 200mg is the highest dose you can take of sertraline so i will be a little concerned about having to increase, i'm going to leave until well after xmas and  new year before i make a decision to go back to the doctors. it's dissapointing for me to think that i will have to do that, but that's life isn't it.  it only took about a week or so if that to feel an improvement, i hope i get back to that place again soon.  i'm not in dier straights and tears all the time etc which is how i was before so i know it's still working for me, just hope i don't need to increase again!! xx

Hi there gingemac i have a friend who takes 300mgs a day of sertraline as it was the only dose that sorted his issues out and the doctor is happy with him to be on it and has settled at 300mgs. Maybe ask your doctor what a higher dose would do
