Hi Bea.  I just want to let you know my own experience.  According to test results, I did had BV but my symptoms are a bit different from a lot of you out there.  I might say that I was lucky (though the experience was horrible as it was) - but I did only experience he feeling of hundreds of ants or hundreds of needles poking at me down there.  I didn't have the fishy odour that everyone talks about nor the other symptoms possible with BV sufferers. I underwent treatment with antibiotics(Metrodinazole) for a week which made it disappear for about 6 days but returned on the 7th day.  Next I was treated with Clindamycin vag insert for 7 days + I started taking probiotics.  Itch didn't go, it just quieted down for 2 days but it was present the rest of the treatment though minimal.  Then I tried doing a Boric Acid Treatment for 21 days.  When I started the treatment I changed my diet as well.  I tried to stay away from foods that transform to alkaline in the body after ingestion.  The only thing I can say about the diet is that make sure that the food doesn't turn alkaline after ingesting.  Example and a very usual mistake is Orange or Lemon.  Since they're both acidic, we think that it will help us turn more acidic but that is not the case.  When ingested, they turn alkaline in the body.  Some alkaline foods do turn acidic when ingested so make sure you research on this well before engaging yourself to it.  I cannot say for sure that it helped me but being a nutritionist, I know that food makes a big impact on our body's system.  "We are what we eat".  My itch stayed on during my treatment but I felt that my itch got less tremendously.  Now, I'm free from the itch though I can still feel like bacteria is still lingering there and ready to attack anytime.  So, I try to stay away from some foods.  When I eat a bit of sweets and include bread and coffee in my diet, I feel I will have a bit of an itch at the end of day or 2.  I suggest you do your own experiment but try to see a doctor just to make sure you're not going to harm yourself further.  Every person is different but hearing other experiences will sometimes help.  If you can stay away from sex during treatment, so much the better.  And f you did have contact while suffering from BV,  it will be best to have your partner get treated.  This doesn't exist in males, but it definitely could have been transferred to him and it will be a viscious cycle passing it back and forth if not treated.  I hope this will help you a bit.  If you have any questions, shoot me a message.  Goodluck.

Hello Mae59 I'm 18 years old and been struggling with BV I guess you can say I been one of lucky ones to just experience the exact symptoms as you without the fishy smell. But my question is how exactly do I insert the pill inside and also will it melt in there? I understand the whole process except for the actual part of you inserting it.

Once you remove the tampon will the pill remain inside or do u have to keep the tampons inside to hold the pill sorry I have no clue (/.\) thank you Mae I hope you can help me out.
