Good Day or Bad Day?

Blood Tests tomorrow - Consultant Wednesday so I have been trying to think how to explain to her the difference between a good day and a bad day. This is my formula:
Good Day: I can get out of bed! I can shower, wash and dry (even style) my hair. I can get my pants on, get my jeans on, even get a jumper on over my head. I'm pleasant to those around me, I smile and joke. I shop and clean and walk and cook. I am human!
Bad Day: I heave myself out of bed (and groan) I shower but have to leave my back wet because its a journey too far for the towel. My hair stays greasy and lank (arms won't reach head). I have to use the John Wayne method of getting my pants on ie: sit on the side of the bed with one leg outstretched. Throw the pants (lasso fashion) in the direction of the outstretched leg in the hope that pant leg hole and leg connect in an orderly fashion! I wear elasticated joggers and any top that fastens at the front. I'm grumpy (well my dearest says so) and I pass on anything other than the bare essentials of the day. Luckily for me I'm having far more good days than bad days at the moment and hope that this is the same for you all. Fingers crossed my bloods reflect the way I feel at the moment.
From Lizzie Ellen who is: Well dressed, with good hair and a dry back today!

Seriously tho' isn't it hard explaining how you feel to the \"experts\"? The best I come up with is that I feel I'm walking with someone else's legs. Not much control. Oddly enough I've never had the really bad early morning troubles, getting out of bed etc. I actually feel worse when I've had my morning dose of pred. Then it wears off and I get going a bit more.
I've learned to lay in some convenience meals to produce on the \"bad\" days, or simply the days when I have done more than usual so I don't tempt Providence (or whoever has control of PMR).
I don't know about the rest of you but, boy, do I feel the cold! I go round with a hot water bottle almost strapped to me permanently. You know the thing about what would you save first if your house was on fire? My lovely hottie in its furry cover! I also bless my computer, first for this site and then all the shopping I do using it. Great secret, which I'm not supposed to know about, I think I'm getting a new one for Christmas! Wrap up all of you and keep snug, Green Granny

I am sorry to hear of the bad days you have been suffering this week - it's just amazing that doing that bit over the top can cause PMR to really rebel. I have had another recurrence of my neck/throat muscle/swallowing discomfort recently which went away for a few days and then reappeared immediately following a hectic day on Tuesday (I hit the shops in Richmond AND Kingston (not exactly pacing myself as recommended!)) so I only have myself to blame....PMR obviously has no respect for the Christmas rush! Happily, it's eased off again today - I've been out for lunch with the lady neighbours and we had a good laugh which I think really is the 'best medicine'! I have followed it up with a walk with hubby in the freezing cold (long johns and hood invaluable!).
That Hot Stone Massage sounds interesting and even more so as it benefited your knee. Hope it works for your arms as well so that you can have a pain-free holiday away over Christmas and apart from wishing you a very happy and peaceful Christmas and New Year, I also send you many congratulations on your 40th Wedding Anniversary - have fun!

Coming back to massage, I've had an Indian head massage which was lovely except that I think one would have to say leave the shoulders alone, maybe one would get it half price!
Anyway have a lovely break away, and a happy Christmas and a healthier New Year to you all, tho' I expect I'll be back on this site again before then.
Love to all, green granny
