Good day until evening

Started new nagnisium last night woke this morning no dizziness. Good all day, was able to mop and vac with no problem. Then I started to think wow nothing all day, probably jinxed it, by thinking about it. Then at 430 at some chips and salsa and at 630ish while having dinner I felt the droppong sensation and yup it was on. Now have headache and neck pain, and feeling like I'm moving, don't know if it was the chips, or the cleaning or even the thinking about and the anxiety of thinking its been good and started it all.

It's so nice when you feel normal. Now I'm on the couch with an ice pack on my neck and hoping I don't have it tomorrow. I'm hoping this new magnesium will work to. I read a lot of stuff about how it helped dizziness. The last one I was taking was sending my to the bathroom so it was bad for my tummy

    What is your diagnosis?

I have MAV and slight mdds according to my ENT specialist. I've had it for 13 months. It's getting better and I have tunes where I'm fine for days and sometimes a week. I've been doing VRT for almost 4 months and I believe it's helping. I also have generalized anxiety disorder which I take Xanax for only when needed and it helps the bad dizzy days to. I'm also hypothyroid, have been for 16 years and on meds for it.

My anxiety doesn't help the dizziness when it comes on but I'm try to relax and not worry.

What do you have? How long have you had dizziness?

I have BVVP, I've had it for about 8 years. I don't get it often but when I do, it will last a few days. Last month it hit me twice. Very disturbing feeling I can't get out of bed.

What is the magnesium that you are taking?  400mg?

      Hi Terry

I take 400mg split into two times a day, but totaling 400mgs.  But I think its to much cause its causing loose bowels, so I'll be changing it to less.  The name of it is Dr's Best chelated mag glycinate.

I take Chelated Magnesium Patty, it's beeter for tummy (I have Crohns)L,so,can vouch for it!

      Hi Gillian

May I ask which mag you take.  I took the new mag last night again and this morning bowels are looser (sorry).  It could be to much for my system, its 200mg tablets and i take them twice a day to  equal 400mgs total.  But I may cut one in half, so I'm only gettimg 100mg in the morning and then take the other 200mgs at bed time.

I was on another site and mentioned mag and someone said its bad for you and we should only be using the spray or oil

Do you use the mag oil in addition to the 400mgs a day?

Hi patty did you get my reply yesterday. I hope the new magnesium helps you. Are you still doing the exercises. If you did not get my reply they say I've got vestibular neuronitis feel I'm beening pull to the Left feel like I'm walking on sponge got a weak balance system if I close my eyes I can not put one foot in front of each other. I've got a flicker in my left eye.

      HI Victoria

I'm still doing the VRT, the therapist said I should do them for months even after she released me, she said this will help to keep things in order.  I think if I cut the magnisium down so its not causing loose bowels I should be ok.  I will keep taking it, coz it does help the dizziness and my axiety.

How are you doing?  I have the leaning to left thing and the sponge walking feeling to, along with a falling feeling, swinging feeling, rocking feeling, its odd how the sensations change.  The other thing is it feels like its my body more at time and not in my head, if that makes sense.

Hi patty l have that sensations specially in my back and feet. I feel like the chair is moving and rocking. When my Husband Park the car I looked at the car buy the side of me it looked like it was moving back and forwards. I find at evenings that are the worst me. Just trying to type to you the sensation in my back and ears. when I do the standing exercises my Vision goes blurred at the sides does this happened to you. Do you get a pounding sensation in your ears

      HI Victoria

I feel like I'm moving when I'm sitting, its odd coz it feels like its in my butt almost, but thru my body, like what i'm sitting on is moving, or if anyone walks by and bumps the couch i feel it thru me, weird stuff.  Mine is worse usually in th eevening to, someone mentioned it probably because of the the movements we are making with our heads during the day.

My ears sometimes feel full, they pop esp the  left on and sometimes they feel like someone is pulling they downward.

I think maybe the blurred vision during your exercises could be drying of the eyes cuz your suppose to try not to blink to much.

There is so much with this condition, it will make us crazy,  especially coz it changes at times, I mean the dizzy feeling.  Of course the anxiety and vision stuff will send me over the edge.

I also have that car moving sensation, esp when I'm in the car wash, I have to look down when it starts otherwise I am slamming on the brake and I'm not even moving.  I remember having that years ago and it would come and go, i guess i've had this a while and just diddn't realize it.  Of course I was told I had fibromyalgia and the car moving thing is on the symptoms list for fibro, so who knows.

I have that sensation in my butt and when they bump into the chair feel like its rocking the sensation in my legs.when I type I feel like butt its moving up and down like sitting on a balloon. What are your symptoms with fibromyalgia
    • Posted

OMG...that a perfect way to describe the sitting on a ballon, like it going up and down, that is exactly what I feel.  Im having it now, I feel like I"m moving on a float and I know i"m not, also getting a headache.  Do you have headaches?  If so, when you get them do you notice the dizziness is worse during the headache?  Mine is alway worse with it.

My fibro symptoms are, headaches, muscles hurting at the same time on both side of the body in the exact same places, neck pain and aches, legs ache, itching, wrist feel weak (like i won't be able to squeeze out a choth).    The one thing about fibro is that when something hurts its always on both sides of the body, like if my arms ache it in the same place on both sides.  i wonder sometimes if some of this is not fibro acting up.  I had it intially when my thyroid went out of whack years ago and they kept saying its anxiety and fibro, but once on the thyriod meds it has all but gone, i have flares occationally but nothing like in the beginning.

      Do you have fibro?

    • Posted

No do not have fibro. I did have headaches it feels like I've been drinking to much alcohol like a bad hangover and I have not touch a drop. I get a sticky feeling alright over my body. What are you like walking?I have trouble changing surfaces from tile floor too carpeting. What are you like walking with your eyes closed?

    • Posted

Walking I feel like the floor is moving up and down and I can feel the off balance in my head, sometimes like I'm walking on marshmello's.  My problem is when i were shoes with a slight heel and take them off, it takes time for me to get used to the floor.  I have trouble feeling stable on carpet sometimes.   When I started doing the VRT exercise where you stand against the wall with a chair in front of you and you shut your eyes for 2 mins, I cant do it on the carpet.

I haven't tried walking with my eyes closed.  But I know walking in a store and looking side to side, bothers me, but I've been doing vrt for that now.

What other symptoms do you have?

    • Posted

I do have tingling, at times.  sounds like we have alot of the same symptoms.
    • Posted

No, I know when I did the VNG test, I couldn't finish it when they put the air in my left ear, the dizziness was awful.  But he did say the because the amitriptyline I took for a week helped that was the indicator that it was MAV.

In 2011 I had BPPV and it was treated successfully, but then this started and i knew right away it was different from BPPV.

Do you know what caused your?
