Good news!

So I just wanted to share something great that happened today because I'm feeling really positive about it!

I had an appointment with a gastroenterologist to discuss my gastroparesis today. Not only did he prescribe me both Maxalon and Motilium to try and see if it helps my chronic nausea, but he also referred me to a highly sought after chronic fatigue specialist! I went in to the appointment with no expectation of even mentioning CFS but the doctor was so respectful and attentive that I finally felt comfortable bringing it up and I'm so glad I did. He really listened and took me seriously and I'm feeling a lot more positive about my future now smile

The bad news is that it will probably be a very long time before I can get to see the CFS specialist (maybe as long as a year, he's that much in demand) but at this point it doesn't really bother me anymore. If anything, the longer I suffer for, the more I'll understand my symptoms so it might actually make it easier to give relevant information to docs when the time comes.

I have not yet had a diagnosis but think I have CFS. It has been suggested by a previous doctor. I am sure you feel better for a diagnosis because at least you’ll be taken seriously, this always seems to be something doctors dismiss

That's great news! Can you share where you live and the name of the specialist? (I understand if you'd rather keep this private.)
