Good news--some improvement in my creatinine

Posted , 5 users are following.

I just got a call from my nephrologist's office. My most recent renal panel has shown improvement in my creatinine level. So I am no longer in Stage V renal failure. I'm now in low Stage IV.

Of course I'm very pleased with this news. My kidneys may hang in there longer than I had expected🐶

It seems to be tied to the improvement in my blood pressure. My BP used to run very low with sudden plummets. But in mid-August I was pulled off a low dose of blood pressure medication. So now my blood pressure is 112/74 without either blood pressure meds or lasix meds.

My BP has been consistently in this range for the past three months. My nephrologist thinks that has caused this improvement in my creatinine. I'm certainly hoping he's right!

The rest of my data continues to be in the normal range--but it has been all along if I follow the low potassium diet and take my potassium binder as prescribed.

Excellent news!  I'm at the end of Stage 4 and hope I can stick in there for a bit longer.  Any tips on how to improve GFR?

      LynQ,

I don't know that I've got any tips. In my case this appears to be due to improvements in my very low BP. Overall, for the past three months, it has been in much better range. So hopefully that is what has caused this modest improvement in my creatinine. Naturally I'm thrilled with any improvement no matter how modest it may be🐶

Wishing you continued stable renal function--that's a win as well!
