Got date for op c6/c7

got date for op, it's going to be 11th august to say i'm a little scared is an under statement

they are going in through the front of my neck, has anyone else had this donre any advice would be great ful

    what are you having done specifically, i had a spinal probe done through the front of my neck, not pleasant, but like i say it depends on what you are having done specifically. if it is something different your experience will be different, and the anaeshetic will be different.

    thanks for replying smile , i'm having a decompression and fusion on c6/c7 for a disc prolapse .i have alot of muscle waste and weakness in my right arm with shoulder pain.

    i also have cs on c3/c4/c5 but nothing is being done about that at the moment .

    how long was it before you were up and about ?

    any advice would be great

    i was up and about the next day, but i dont think it will compare to what you are having done. i was offered the same op as you but it was pulled at the last minute, i was told that it would make things worse. i was told this by a specialist from st james' in leeds he came down to manchester to assess me. good luck and i hope you feel better than i have got to be.
