Got in and out of car today without pain!

Posted , 9 users are following.

Hurray. 3 weeks post op and today was the first day I managed to get in and out of the passenger seat without any pain in the hip. Still have to do the shuffle over the seat but hip is finally just flexible enough to get the leg over the sill. The exercises do work!

Congrats Olwen - for the accomplishment, but also the hard work getting you there and the good sense to celebrate this breakthrough!

Keep it going - even if you don't have noticable gains. It really makes a difference - not just in what you can do but also to avoid strains and pain when you push yourself.

    Good luck.

I find getting in the car much harder than getting out.  I am just a bit over 6 ft tall, and our car is a mid size Japanese car.  If I do not get in correctly, I get some bad pain for a moment, not fun !!

Good Luck with your rehab !!!!!

Now and then being short has its advantages!  I find getting in and out of vehicles a breeze.  Has never been hard.  I love how different we all are in this recovery journey.  Congrats Owen on your improvement with this!  The exercises do work!
