Got too anxious and now my heart feels funny?

Two hours ago I got really nervous for an exam result from school. I got an email from my Professor saying the results were ready. I started to get really anxious and my heart started to pound pretty fast in just a few seconds. My heart even skipped a beat which scared me. Now I feel awfully funny. My left arm hurts and my head too. I'm getting pain in my left leg. I've had numerous EKGs and blood tests done in the past with no result of any heart issue. However, my heart is still skipping a beat randomly. When i tried lying down, it skipped a beat again, and I felt a rippling sensation below my chest. It feels like I'm having a mini heart attack. I feel like i can't breath well either and my jaw kind of hurts. I am 21 years old.

Jacey, the first thing I am going to say is that it sounds more than anything like a panic attack. I don't want to make you feel bad, but it almost sounds as if this is all psychosomatic. The skipped beats can be caused by the panic attack, but the pains you feel may be the power of suggestion if you know what the signs of a heart attack is. It's a powerful thing. Many years ago I was volunteering at a blood drive and was joking around with the Red Cross captain pretending that I was fainting (but I didn't go all the way down). Boy did I get an ear full! She was worried that I would cause a reaction from a donor who then might pass out. I never took that too seriously until a video on Youtube of a young woman ?teenager? who was extremely nervous about getting the needle and at one point the friend told her (just as they got the needle in) that they didn't get it yet and then the girl passed out. If her friend had kept her mouth shut the girl donating probably would have succeeded in donating. You might want to talk to your doctor about a mild anti anxiety medication and also consider the possibility of counseling. Just for a while.
