Gotta find my way back, I'm taking control and trying not to let HERPES take control of me.

Today is the first day since I've been diagnosed about over a week ago, that I actually feel like myself. Last night I made sure I ate a good dinner and got some much needed rest with the help of a sleeping pill. I woke up feeling quite refreshed. Whenever the thought of being depressed came to mind I quickly made myself busy. I decided to give myself some ME TIME, which basically meant, I wasn't gonna keep giving herpes all of my attention all day and night. Things that I normally do, I took the longer way instead of the quick way. I took a bath and relaxed instead of a shower, then washed my hair separately. Instead of blow drying my hair, I set underneath a hood dryer. I tried to keep myself as busy as possible today. My point is, we all know that were gonna have our time of feeling down about this thing, but we can't let it consume every part of our life. We have to keep pushing, stay prayed up and busy. We have to make better decisions and know that everyone isn't gonna always be completely honest in life. And no one is above mistakes. We have to take this as a lesson learned. I'm blessed to have another shot at life, cause it could be worst. I also told my best friend who is also herpes positive about it, she was extremely supportive. I thank god for her. We've set up a girls night out next weekend. I'M TAKING MY LIFE BACK, it belongs to me and I declare happiness. I know there are still gonna be stressful days for me but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

Everything in life won't always be easy, we'll definitely face some tough roads ahead of us. This one were facing right now may seem like the worse one yet, but I can assure you that you'll face worse. I don't know exactly how you feel, but I do know that it'll get better with time. We could be in a situation way worse than this, do we have to thank god that we have another chance at life and pick up the pieces and keep moving. Now I know that's easier said than done, but it's all up to you now. You have this disease and it's with you for life, so don't let in control you. YOU'RE IN CONTROL NOW. We can't cry over spilled milk, all we can do is wipe it up and pour ourselves another glass. My point is, make the best out of the situation. We have a while life ahead of us, god has given us another shot at this, and guess what. We're in control. No one can hurt you like that again.we all should know now how to better protect ourselves. Also that none of us are untouchable.it could've been anyone at any moment. IT COULD BE WORSE, so cheer up and take it one second, minute and day at a time.
