There is plenty of anecdotal evidence that cider vinegar may help gout, but the research supporting it is thin on the ground. Vinegar is simply acetic acid, so there's no reason to believe that cider vinegar is any better than any other vinegar.
However with gout, the objective is to not only not have the pain in joints (essential as that is), but it should be to control the underlying disease - the hyperuricemia (high blood uric acid). If that is high, you are slowly causing damage to the blood vessels, and kidneys. If the blood urate is high over a long period you have higher chance of stroke, heart disease and kidney issues.
Good luck and good health.

Don't believe everything you read from Dr. Google. If this statement were true I'd be gout free since in our culture we use vinegar in almost all of our foods. Yet, nowadays when I have a salad with just vinegar & a little water, my arthritis acts up and my pain is worse. Life only gets harder when you have gout as you get older, unless you're on a medical regimen monitored by a physician.
