Phew. As if the gout were not bad enough.. you poor sod.

You state you are active so i doubt you are overweight. Apparently if you are overweight then this is the major cataylst not food as commonly believed.

Secondly give up alcohol now.. until you have the levels under control.

Finally if the doctor cannot prescribe anything then a low purine vegetatian and

    Blueberries

    Cherries

    Celery seeds

    Cider vinegar

    Cherry juice.

    Lemon juice

Hope this helps, do google the above and give it a try... it does seem ailments are individual so you may have to try them.one by one to know which one helps..

Cherry juice seems to help but not cure....

    Hi

I've had some problems with Allopurinol (higher doses gave me diarrhoea) and Febuxostat (allergic)

But there are alternatives such as Sulfinpyrazone and Benzbromarone so don't give up hope

I am now taking a combination of Allopurinol (low dose) and Benzbromarone which has my Gout completely under control

    Thanks
