GP did not tell me I had high blood pressure

Hi, last week had ear infection and blood pressure was checked 130/90, which on googling is not particularly good, GP said it was ok but was I told at my last HRT check in May my blood pressure was high.  NO I was not, I was really shocked that the main check for HRT is blood pressure and even though it was high was still given prescription.  Even last week GP glossed over this.  I want to make an appointment and ask why I was not told it was high, why they say 130/90 is ok, but do not want to annoy GP and intimate that they are not doing their job properly, I know my GP's are really busy but this is not the first time they have hurried me out and seemed to gloss over a problem, the other one being that I have high iron levels (304), and although there is a great big red X against hospital results and patient forum say's much too high GP's are not worried.  I am 57, female and live in UK.  Thanks

Why not buy yourself a BP monitor and check it at home. If it is lower take your readings in to your GP. Most people will get a truer reading when relaxed at home. 130/90 is just at the upper range of normal.

Blood pressure can change over the course of a day , you may also have a bit of white coat syndrome , the more you think about it and worry it will not go back to normal , try taking deep breaths before having it checked also empty your bladder, both can lower B/P , Yes I suffered high B/P now being managed by meds ,B/P now 110/70 ,but mine was 220/125 following a heart attack 3yrs ago

i'm not sure but woudn't an infection, and if you are in pain cause your blood pressure to be higher.

I know in my case pain can cause my blood pressure to be crazy high, nurses calling Dr's in for immediate consult, and I have had to even explain to Dr's give me some pain relief and watch it come back to normal.

They always seem to be suspicious that you are a drug addict.

Thanks for your replies.  I probably do get a bit nervous waiting for appointment so could be that. I also have osteoarthritis in my neck which is bad at the minute so again could be imflammation.  I will ask to have it checked again next time I go and stop worrying about it in the meantime.
