Thank God we got great news from nephrologist today. Patrick raised his GFR test from 30 to 42 which puts him at his numbers from 2011. All of his tests came back great and the Doctor is very pleased . She said we are doing Great with the nutrition and he is off fluid restriction. She wants him to drink other things like milk and juice.

She will see him in 3 months.

She said I did great on his nutrition, most people don't follow it as close but it worked.

We see his GP next week.

I am so relieved and greatful for your support and prayers. Thank you from my heart.

This is the best outcome, I was hoping for stabilization so this is a blessing🙏

That is great.  Glad to hear things are working out well.  That is what we all work for.  I go get my next bloodwork on the 19th.  I am hoping for the same.  The only problem with mine is that I was leaking protein in my urine on my lat test..  I don't know if I need to eat more or less protein now.  More will overwork my kidneys and less with losing protein might not be enough.  My numbers last time did go from 32 to 38.  I am hoping it won't go down this time.  So you keep up with the fantastic job your doing.  Again really happy for you both.

      We are relievedsmile

Will be praying for your numbers to go up.

I think when protein leaks into the urine it means your kidney cannot process so much protein

How much are you eating, my husband was doing 74 grams per day,

I only have an average of 52 grams per day total.   Did you count all protein sources or only meat protein?  Nobody ever told me how to count it.  I just went by a guide on another site.  How much water did they tell him to drink when he was at 30?  I drink about 50 ounces.  Give or take 2 ounces.

      Hi

He was given 74 grams of protein when he was at 30, now at GFR 43 she has not changed that number . When we went to our first appt I thought she said 50 ounces of water and if he worked outside add 20 more.

When we went today my husband told her the restriction of fluids was too difficult. She was surprised!!! She said she meant minimum amounts not total amounts. She said she doesn't want him to just drink water, she wants him to have any beverage that doesn't affect his diabetes. Milk, natural cranberry juice etc

Only one cup of coffee per day

If you don't have those symptoms I would ask your Doctor.

      Hugs
