    Hi Tracey.

Ive had 2 hip replacements. Both were successful. The 1st one was 11 years ago and the 2nd one was nearly 7 months ago. My left hip (11 yr old one) when I bend or especially when I stretch out in bed, makes a grinding sound as if I'm passing wind!! I did havi it xrayed a few years back but all was clear!! I dont get any pain with it just noise! If you are doubtful about it in any way, ask your g.p to refer you for an xray. X

    Hi Tracey

I don’t mean to alarm you but my hip popped out 2 weeks ago due to bending and picking something up from floor once you’ve had your hip replacement we are not meant to bend more than 90degrees I let it slip and now I’m paying the price it’s the second time since my hip has gone since my replacement in 2011 I’m 54 now I had my hip replacement at 47 please be careful I’m paying the price right now by being unable to work

      Dear Wendy

My first hip replacement lasted me twenty years of very hard use and for all of those years I regularly practiced putting both of my hands flat on the floor just in front of me with feet together and never experienced any nasties. With it now revised a year ago it is the same story. Posterior approach titanium joint and apply cup.

Grinding from a hip joint is not a good sign.

I'd get it checked out if I were you.

Mine grinds, pops and bangs, but that's because the ceramic has disintegrated.

I am having it changed next week.

    Dear Tracey

Not to my knowledge. What exactly do you feel and is there any sound?

    Cheers Richard
