Hi, I get popping in my hip occasionally, mostly when I'm putting pressure on it at odd angles ie swivelling on my bum and pushing with my legs. I asked my physio who said it's hip muscle instability which should go as the muscle get tighter. 🚶

I had that happen to me too ... not really alarming but just weird and felt funny -
This can happen from a tendon, called the psoas tendon, rubbing against the new hip. Usually this popping sensation occurs while the hip is healing, and during turning the leg side to side.
Your body might not be in balance yet - Are you limping when you walk?
If you are really concerned and the popping is painful, please see your surgeon -
How are you getting on otherwise?
big warm hug

Hi Hazel,
I just started a discussion about this. I am 7 months out and just recently started with groin pain in my surgical hip. You'll read about my getting into our Van incident that was almost traumatic for me yesterday. Today is much better, but still just sort of 'there'. My H seems to think that because my other (good?) hip needs attention as well, and I am a little 'crooked' because the surgical hip is a tad longer than the other, that's the crux of my problem. I'm going to be more faithful with my exercises at home, but not going to start immediately after last night. Will wait a few days and then ease into it. I will google 'adducter muscle' to see what comes up. Thanks for the tip on what this may be. I have a hard time believing that the new joint is dislocated, or I wouldn't be walking and doing all I'm doing today after my episode yesterday.
