Hi sus, I have had two big surgery ops in the last 23yrs, the first one was open wound surgery where they cut out all the infected areas and left it to heal. This worked well for 10yrs, no outbreaks and most importantly normal life. It came back with a vengance, more outbreaks, all in the same area again (groin, buttocks). I was lucky to find a surgeon who's father was a specialist in this. The second op was a lot more involved, it was a skin graft, i have now been free for 14yrs.

I hope whatever you decide works for you, for me the skin graft has worked and i think most surgeons would say this is the best option for the long term.
