Hi sus, I have had two big surgery ops in the last 23yrs, the first one was open wound surgery where they cut out all the infected areas and left it to heal. This worked well for 10yrs, no outbreaks and most importantly normal life. It came back with a vengance, more outbreaks, all in the same area again (groin, buttocks). I was lucky to find a surgeon who's father was a specialist in this. The second op was a lot more involved, it was a skin graft, i have now been free for 14yrs.
I hope whatever you decide works for you, for me the skin graft has worked and i think most surgeons would say this is the best option for the long term.

Hi James thanks for the insight defo sounds like a plan even if it only lasts for 10 years just to have a normal life (what a cliche ) and live pain free for a while sounds great I have foned the docs to get a appointment but have to wait 3 weeks just to see the doc so I have decided to go straight to a & e with my sister who is a a&e nurse who has been trying to help thro all this discomfort and pain again this outbreak has lasted 6 months with 1 either side of my goin area not even been able to get out the house with my 2 year old so either way surgery sounds a plan to me 🙂 Thanks again
