Ground Hog time

Been on Sertraline since March this year, first two weeks were horrendous, but by now I would of thought things would be settling down. It's the sleeping part doing me head in, fair enough I can get too sleep but then awake up 2/3 times in the night, plus aching joints, elbow and finger (don't laugh).

Anyone else out there in ground hog day???

I take valerian tablets from the health shop no caffine after 6pm and a regular bedtime this all seems to have helped most nights I get at least 6 hours.

Been on propranolol about 2 months

I had same and was advised by pharmacist to take my sertraline ( and propranolol ) after breakfast as both drugs keep you awake

    I now sleep well

    Hope this helpsĀ

I have found the Sertraline seem to make me drowsy - have switched to taking mine in the afternoon - feel a bit brighter in the morning. I was taking Valerian tablets - but ended up taking them for long periods and I don't think it helped my drowsiness of a morning. Sorry to hear about your finger wink

Hi there...I've only been on Sertraline for 2 weeks,it seems the sleeping part of it was worse for the first week.I can relate to the aching joints,I've got osteoarthritis and I know this medication (and other similar meds I have taken)can exacerbate the symptoms. But at times it's less severe.Hope this eases soon.
