Hi smile I'm a 22 year old woman and I was just wondering why I have never developed like other women. I am about 5'4 and I'm very insecure about my voice because it cracks alot and sounds very... Unstable. I took theatre and signing classes in highschool but it didn't seem to help. Why do some women develop slower and is they're a chance it might change? I would love to be a beautiful tall woman with a beautiful voice and mature face. sad

Sabrina, I'm not sure what country you are in, but 5'4" is exactly average for a woman in the US. The average male is 6'10". Unless you had hoped to become a fashion model your height should not be a detriment in any way. You are normal. That happens to be my height and I have never felt it held me back in any way. Some people are shorter, some are taller, hence we are average. Some people have physical issues with their vocal chords. maybe see a specialist if this is a serious problem. I have heard my recorded voice and was shocked to hear what sounded like a 10 year old boy! Again, it hasn't seemed to affect my life at all, other than my inability to sing, but that could be the case even with someone with a great speaking voice.

If you follow studies on what men prefer (if that is what concerns you), they seem to like a higher pitched voice and clearly a youthful face over a mature one. Rather than look at magazines like Vogue (which women seemed to be influenced by), why not do a little research on what men find appealing. Be happy that you are not afflicted with any number of deformities that could in fact unfairly hold you back in life because of people's perceptions of anything that is NOT average.

You will be happy in life if you do what you can with what you've got. Good Luck!

All these beautiful women, perfect skin at 16- 24, wow I used to be sooooo envious.

Now I am laughing, at 65, even pulled up at a demonstration of makeup, told I had no lines, and asked how old I was, she nearly fell of her chair, smiled and told me Iooked younger.

Then went on to ask me some questions in front of the audience, did I have a very oily skin when I was younger, YESS with bells on.

As I was sitting there answering her questions, I thought to myself I am going to have maybe 10 - 12 lines, when I am in my 80's I still remember my grandmother, she had almost flawless skin at 87, amazing to see, and your what was a beautiful face is going to look as though someone has crumpled up paper and have 100's of lines, and crinkles.

?We are all different, comes down to genetics, who is short in your family, maybe you have inherited more than your fair share of their short genes.

?other than that, medical issue, have you been checked out by your Dr, but again not enough outside normal to trigger concern, unless you have other issues, monthly cycle for example, you need to share that with you Dr if you do.
