Guillain-Barre Syndrome GBS

I was struck down by GBS seven months ago. I just collapsed in the street. No warning. I didn't know what was happening. I was scared. Got myself to the doctors straight away where he admitted me to hospital straight away. Just had over a week in hospital (I was lucky) but then as I came home, I was on my own to cope with this condition or should I say inconvenience. That's when the fun started. I had to have carer's come and see to my every need. Also had to have meals on wheels. (Only in my 50's, I found it so degrading). I have always been independant, now I was forced to be looked after. It's like starting all over again. Learning to talk, walk and do things. Almost going back in time when I was a baby. But, here I am back on the computer, talking, walking (very slowly, still with a stick) but getting there. It's almost like I was doing too much at the time, and it's slowed me down. But, now I take each day at a time. Life's so presious.
For anyone out there just starting to get back to normal. Just keep going and never look back.

fast forward to july 12th. back in the er because the numbness is getting worse. still no weakness but muscles on the left are SO tight, bending my fingers is really hard and painful. moving my arm is becoming a chore. cant hold or grip anything. er cant help again, sd its a pinched nerve and come back if its worse,
july 17th - worse. my arm is now almost impossible to lift, my shoulder and left flank and leg are at 90% reduced sensation. i have no control over my fingers and wear a sock on my hand so my pinky doesnt get caught on things and break. I can walk ok, feel off bal since my leg is just about numb. addition: my right foot (bottom) - and right hand start to tingle (middle, ring and pinky - outside of right hand.
today - SCARED. right side is now progressing like my left did - and i feel almost paralyzed in my left arm. i cant get in to see a neurologist until aug 2nd. i feel like going to the er is pointless as they keep refusing to do any test but cbc blood. they keep insisting its a oinched nerve and tell me to come back if worse, - so now my left arm is useless.
is thiss gbs and should i demand they test me for it?
