Gum fissure

Hello everyone.

Today, brushing my teeth, I felt some gum pain. I tried to look at it in the mirror and noticed a small fissure with blood.

I didn't notice it before and never had such problems. I'm leaving UK for a week and can't go to a doctor now, hoping for your help.

Do you think it is something serious, maybe decay related, or just an injury?

Looks painful! Don't know what it is but would suggest being extra vigilant with your oral hygiene routine whilst you are away. Do book an appointment, now, with your dentist for when you are back. If you have travel insurance, take note of what dental procedures are covered and keep the emergency numbers handy. So, if it gets worse whilst you are away you will be able to deal with it immediately. Also, you could look up the location of the emergency dental services of where you are travelling too.
