Guys I need some advice

I've been on sertraline for little over 3 months now. My dose was increased from 50mg to 100mg a couple weeks ago as I still wasn't where I needed to be.

So I saw my doc today about my progress and this week has been HARD in terms of side effects (lathargy, low mood, brain fog, ringing in the ears the list goes on) - I'm feeling quite depressed and anxious especially since its having a negative impact on my studies.

Anyway he suggested I stook with 100mg for another 8 weeks atleast... so thats another 2 months!! I'm pretty sure that 12 weeks is the longest wait time before seeing if the medication is suitable or not but I'm not 100% sure.

Do you guys think that I should wait it out for another 8 weeks or ask for a med change?? based on experience for anyones whos currently on medication or has experienced switching over.

Thanks for taking the time to read this

I can't say for sure if you should wait that long, Have you seen any response to the dose your taking now even if it is just a little response.  If you have then I would maybe give it a little more time.  I personnally have seen some improvment on the dose I am on but not as much as I would like and everytime I up my dose I get all the side effects back which just kills me.

I've still got a few side effects but I'm gonna take his advice and stick it out. I was just a bit pee'd off on the day when he said another 8 weeks I thought that it was gonna be the same thing over again like when I started. I've come this far so I'm gonna stick it out!

Trust me I feel the sameway I called my Doctor the other day to ask him if it was normal to still have side effects and he simply told me to increase the dose,  THat in no way answered my question.

Yeah man they tend to counter your question no matter what. I think its best to stick it out depending on how far you've come, it gets to a point where you become one with the drug I assume. I had ringing in both ears for almost 2 weeks straight and now its only in one so I feel like my body is gradually getting used to the dosage increase.
