Had a tibial osteotomy fractured my fibula help

Ok so on 2-28-18 I had my tibia decorated because I was born with twisted leg bones. Well the also broke my fibula in half. Now my tibia has plate and screw, but they did nothing for my fibula. The day after surgery I heard a pop and it was my fibula separating and it is excruciating. The ortho dr said it is fine to leave it alone and that the fibula bone doesn't do anything. I have no cast or walking boot and my knee hurts so bad. I have a giant lump in my leg now with redness and heat. Should I get a second opinion, maybe go to the Dr? I am really freaking out. I am non weight bearing and when I stand up it is the worst pressure and pain. It feels like weighs 100 pounds. Of anyone could help I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you
