Had ankle fracture surgery, discharged next day, allowed partial weight bearing

I'm 38 and have a fractured fibula and had surgery on Monday afternoon to attach a plate and screws as well as a pin right through my foot to affix a ligament. On Tuesday morning I was fitted for a moon boot and told I can partially weight bear then was discharged Tuesday afternoon with codeine and paracetamol. The boot is causing me a few problems - my legs seem to not have a lot of power and the boot is heavy so it's a huge effort to walk in it. It's also heightening a stabbing/stinging pain on the outside of my foot and a very tight pain on the top of my foot. When I remove the boot the pain is quite bad and it takes a while for it to subside to the regular level of pain I have when I'm just lying down with the foot in the bandage. I'm not sure if I should be wearing the boot a lot or for the first few days just resting as much as possible with the boot off? Obviously I want to do everything I can to assist the rehabilitation as much as possible but I don't know how much I should be forcing myself to do at such an early stage. Twice when I've got up out of bed and taken my time before attempting to walk with the boot and crutches, I've got very light-headed and felt like I was going to faint. Just a bit overwhelmed and confused sad
